Seeing in Color

In Seeing in Color, the figure carries the marks of a long journey. The tears have not disappeared, the scars remain etched across the face, and perfection is nowhere to be found. Yet something within has changed. The figure no longer sees reality only in shades of black and white, but has begun to recognize the beauty, the possibilities, and the light that had been there all along. The monochromatic face represents the inner self that continues to carry pain, while the vibrant background bursts with color, shapes, and symbols - an expression of emotional richness, hope, and the desire to grow even through brokenness. I hope the viewer connects with this experience, finds a part of themselves within it, and feels that they are not alone. For me, this painting is an invitation to pause, look inward, and discover that sometimes the greatest transformation is not in what the world presents to us, but in the way we choose to see it. Because the moment we begin to see in color is not the moment the pain disappears - it is the moment hope learns to exist alongside it.
