Nava Ellenbogen was born in 1955 in Tel Aviv. She studied accounting and economics at Tel Aviv University and worked professionally as an accountant for several optics companies. For over four decades, art has been a central part of Nava’s life. She pursued studies in sculpture, painting, and ceramics under renowned artists including Yehuda Kria, Zeev Chernov, Alex Cherkov, Yehezkel (Yak) Cohen and Lena Guberman. Nava also trained in stained glass with Moshe Shamir, and explored etching, printing, and relief techniques at the Jaffa Arts Center. She served as chairman of the Ramat Gan and Givatayim Painters and Sculptors Association. Nava’s sculptural work, crafted from fired clay with glazes and occasionally cast in bronze or polyester, centers on the human figure. Her pieces are characterized by precise, rounded lines that invite touch and evoke intimacy. Her paintings, primarily realistic oil on canvas, reflect a deep sensitivity to form and emotion. Nava has participated in numerous exhibitions both in Israel and internationally. Her solo exhibitions include shows at the “Al Ha’agam” Gallery in Raanana (2010 and 2015) and in Holzminden, Germany (2014). She has also exhibited in group shows at venues such as the Migdal Gallery, Beit HaTanach, Beit Yad LaBanim in Ramat Gan, Givatayim Theater, Migdalor Gallery, HaYahalom Theater in Ramat Gan, Kiryat Ono Library, and annual art sales exhibitions at Bank Hapoalim.
