The Show Must Go On

The Show Must Go On explores the gap between the persona we present to the world and the inner emotional reality we carry within. It captures the quiet moment before stepping onto the stage - when the makeup is complete, the role is ready, and all that remains is to smile and perform. Yet a single tear reveals a different truth: behind the mask lies an emotional world that is not always visible. I create from my inner world, and the face is always my starting point. As I paint, it evolves intuitively into a figure that expresses emotions, thoughts, and experiences that do not always find a place in everyday life. In this work, I explore the tension between the need to keep functioning and the emotional weight of what is happening beneath the surface. For me, painting is a way of giving form to emotions that are difficult to express in words. Through line, color, and imagery, I invite the viewer to look beyond the surface and encounter the vulnerability hidden behind the roles we all play. I hope that everyone who experiences this work can recognize a part of themselves within it and, if only for a moment, feel that they are not alone.
