Pink Roses in pastel
Pastel on velvet paper Four pink roses open across the picture plane, gathered with deep green leaves in a rounded vase against a powdery blue ground. Soft pastel blends the petals into velvety transitions, while looser passages in the foliage and background keep the surface airy and painterly. The result is gentle and intimate, with a fresh floral presence.

My artistic approach is based on stain painting using a method of creative release, the technique through which I learned to paint and which I apply in my own art and with my students. I paint both from observation and imagination, with my main subjects being the landscapes of my childhood, moving between Kibbutz Magen in the western Negev and Jerusalem, where I was born. My work combines different media, mainly oil on canvas and linen, pastels, watercolor, and gouache. Each medium allows me room to search and wander creatively, giving me the freedom to express painterly stains, release, and vibrant color in its own distinct way.
