Violet Burst in Ochre
This abstract composition gathers dense violet and blue passages at its center, surrounded by ochre, orange, pink, and dark earthy tones. Built in oil on canvas with layered palette-knife marks and sweeping brushwork, the surface shifts between scraped edges and thick paint. The result feels energetic and tactile, with a strong visual pull that suits a focused contemporary setting.

אסתריקה אגסי כהן במסגרת
My artistic approach is based on stain painting using a method of creative release, the technique through which I learned to paint and which I apply in my own art and with my students. I paint both from observation and imagination, with my main subjects being the landscapes of my childhood, moving between Kibbutz Magen in the western Negev and Jerusalem, where I was born. My work combines different media, mainly oil on canvas and linen, pastels, watercolor, and gouache. Each medium allows me room to search and wander creatively, giving me the freedom to express painterly stains, release, and vibrant color in its own distinct way.
