Between Tide and Sky
Broad horizontal bands of blue, teal, gray, and soft blush form a tranquil sea beneath an expansive, clouded sky. Loose oil brushwork allows the waves and reflections to dissolve into painterly layers, balancing movement with openness. The cool, airy palette creates a restful presence suited to a living room, bedroom, or quiet office.

Ester Agassi Cohen
My artistic approach is based on stain painting using a method of creative release, the technique through which I learned to paint and which I apply in my own art and with my students. I paint both from observation and imagination, with my main subjects being the landscapes of my childhood, moving between Kibbutz Magen in the western Negev and Jerusalem, where I was born. My work combines different media, mainly oil on canvas and linen, pastels, watercolor, and gouache. Each medium allows me room to search and wander creatively, giving me the freedom to express painterly stains, release, and vibrant color in its own distinct way.
