Blue Interlude
This work belongs to the Musical Abstraction series. A field of blue opens into a moment of stillness, while layers of yellow, orange, turquoise and white gather and move around its edges. Gestural lines and drips create a rhythm between movement and restraint, allowing the composition to remain energetic without overwhelming its sense of calm. Rather than filling the canvas with continuous movement, the work leaves its center deliberately open. The surrounding gestures seem to approach, retreat and circle around this space, creating a visual pause, an interlude, and leaving room for the quiet within.
