Let go

Semi-constrained Lichtenberg figures on scavenged and upcycled wood, oil stained, unvarnished. This engraved work on wood transforms the natural grain into a charged landscape of branching fissures and luminous color fields. Warm ochre and brown tones meet a vivid green form, creating tension between earth, growth, and geological force in a refined contemporary composition. This is the first attempt I made to let the wood itself have agency in its own eventual destiny as art. Every fractal here exists in relation to, and inspired by, the wood’s knots and grain. It is also the first step towards the “Dallol” piece (in my gallery).
