Happy Little Accident

Semi-constrained Lichtenberg figures on scavenged and upcycled wood, framed in scavenged and dyed wood and finished in matt yacht varnish. Had I made this in my workshop with a fixed outcome in mind, I would never have been able to free-flow spontaneously like this. This piece was made as a live demonstration of my method at the street fair in Zichron Yaakov. The original plan was to slice it into coasters - a notion that infuriated the spectating crowd, which demanded unilaterally to defend the piece from my own stated intentions. Ever argued with an Israeli mob? No, thank you. Good thing in retrospect, as, years later, this show-and-tell piece was showcased and discussed at length during the opening event at the Mark Shagal House “Intuitive Drawing” exhibition of Haifa Association of painters and sculptors, May 2025, Haifa.
