Between Fire and Water
Three swans drift across luminous water, their curved necks and layered wings emerging from a haze of pink, lilac, cream, and warm orange. Fluid oil brushwork softens the edges and builds feathery movement through sweeping strokes and reflected light. The result is gentle and atmospheric, bringing a romantic, tranquil presence to a bedroom or living space. For me, the swans symbolize peace, tranquility, and the quiet rhythm of everyday life. The fire surrounding them intrudes upon that space, disrupting their ability to exist in harmony just as war infiltrates our lives, altering even the most ordinary and seemingly peaceful moments. Despite it all, they continue to move forward. Through this painting, I wanted to express the tension between beauty and serenity and a reality that never truly allows us to find rest.
