Beacon Beneath the Clouds
A solitary lighthouse rises from a rocky blue shoreline beneath loosely gathered gray clouds, its fine beams extending across an open sky. Transparent watercolor washes meet quick, dark linear marks, allowing the grain of the paper and broad areas of white to remain active. The restrained coastal palette creates a quiet, slightly moody atmosphere suited to a bedroom, office, or hallway.

I paint primarily landscapes, nature, and places that evoke a sense of calm, space, or curiosity. I draw inspiration from the landscapes of the Jerusalem Hills, as well as from quiet moments in an Abu Gosh monastery or a Tel Aviv café. For me, painting is a way to dwell on images and fleeting moments that usually pass by quickly, and to unpack—using pencils, pens, and watercolors—the small details that make up everyday life. Working with watercolor, I am particularly drawn to the interplay of color, light, and texture, and to the way the medium itself leaves room for chance and surprise. Working with pencils and pens, I seek to capture the essence of a figure or an object through a few sharp lines.
