Beacon Among Palms
This acrylic on canvas blends architectural form with dreamlike atmosphere, centering a glowing beacon amid soft silhouettes and airy palms. I am a painter who photographs my experiences and then transfers the experience in color onto canvas. Recently I decided to create between my memories from the past and my present. I was born in Tunisia and left my childhood and grandmother there. In my latest works there are connections between the little girl that I am and the woman I am today. A longing for childhood in the face of life and presence in Israel. I am not political, all the works are very personal and do not talk about immigration to Israel and so on. For example, in a certain work I connected my memories and feelings about places I have been to such as: India, Morocco and Santorini.
