Three vessels occupy a narrow horizon above layered blue-gray marine forms, several rendered as faint bodies or skeletal outlines beneath the surface. Transparent watercolor washes spread softly across the textured paper, while delicate lines define the ships and submerged creatures. I paint primarily landscapes, nature, and places that evoke a sense of calm, space, or curiosity. I draw inspiration from the landscapes of the Jerusalem Hills, as well as from quiet moments in an Abu Gosh monastery or a Tel Aviv café. For me, painting is a way to dwell on images and fleeting moments that usually pass by quickly, and to unpack—using pencils, pens, and watercolors—the small details that make up everyday life. Working with watercolor, I am particularly drawn to the interplay of color, light, and texture, and to the way the medium itself leaves room for chance and surprise. Working with pencils and pens, I seek to capture the essence of a figure or an object through a few sharp lines.
