Bananaant
Antwoman is a character and artistic avatar that has accompanied my work over the years. Through her, I create new encounters with iconic images from art history and contemporary culture. In "Bananaant", which references Maurizio Cattelan’s Comedian, Antwoman becomes the banana herself - both character and object. The gesture plays with absurdity, humor, and the way context and presentation can transform an everyday object into a work of art.

I’m Shimrit (Antwoman), a digital and interdisciplinary artist working across a wide range of media, with a particular focus on motion art, animation, interactive art, and dynamic NFTs. My work has been exhibited at events and exhibitions around the world. I hold a BA in Art and Digital Media and an MA in Interdisciplinary Arts from Tel Aviv University. My creative process is driven not only by a passion for making art, but also by an interest in how art communicates. I am drawn to connections - between people, nature, technology, and ideas, while continually seeking to challenge conventional hierarchies and boundaries. In this sense, my art becomes a kind of bridge-builder, instinctively bringing opposites together to form something new. I like to think of my practice as a philosophy of transformation: one that invites contemplation and enjoyment while questioning the status quo. Since 2021, I have been an active participant in the blockchain art scene. I am particularly drawn to the possibilities of blockchain technology as a new artistic medium. Through my work, I explore the relationship between art and technology, using blockchain to create dynamic and interactive artworks.
