Lana Laor

Lana Laor is a unique Israeli artist whose work stems from a deep connection to narrative, visual imagery, and the power of personal and collective myths. She is a graduate of the École de Beaux-Arts in Paris and specialized in the tempera painting technique under the guidance of the renowned Austrian painter Ernst Fuchs. Beyond painting, Laor has also worked in photography, interior design, and jewelry design. She is a member of the Israeli Painters and Sculptors Association and the Artists’ Association in Safed, and has been an active participant in the local art community for many years. Her work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Paris, Marseille, New York, Tel Aviv, Safed, and Haifa. Laor’s paintings are characterized by a “narrative painting” - a form of magical painting that tells a story, weaving together imagery, emotions, memories, and myths, inviting the viewer on a personal and poetic journey into an inner and mysterious world. In the series presented here, “Woman with Animal,” Laor explores femininity and deep layers of identity through her own unique visual language.
