The work grows from a deep pain of belonging. A belonging that is not taken for granted, despite thousands of years of history. A belonging that always requires proof, declaration, repetition. This map is a gesture of quiet persistence. A return of form to place, again and again, despite everything. In its silence, the work speaks of roots that cannot be uprooted, even when they are called into question. Of memory etched in the body, even when it rests on a cold surface. And of the recurring need to place this form on the ground. To say, without words: "We are here".
