Road Under a Pale Sky

Road Under a Pale Sky

Ariel Schneier

$416

A pale road curves through muted green fields toward a compact cluster of trees beneath a broad blue-gray sky. Loosely applied oil paint softens the boundaries between land, foliage, and atmosphere, while visible strokes give the canvas a gently worked surface. The restrained palette creates a quiet, contemplative mood suited to a bedroom, office, or intimate hallway arrangement.

Ariel Schneier

Ariel Schneier (b. 1980) is an Israeli artist working in painting and drawing. He began his artistic journey in early childhood, intuitively engaging in drawing with pencils and pens. During his teenage years, he further developed his skills through a high school graphics program and an open studio course in drawing and painting from the nude model. At the age of 24, he studied under Israel Hershberg at the J.S.S. School of Art in Jerusalem and participated in summer art courses in Italy, where he was awarded first place in an art competition held in the city of Sulmona. Approximately a decade later, he was awarded a scholarship to study at the HaTahana School, directed by Aram Gershuni and David Nipo. Today, Ariel’s work focuses primarily on observing everyday spaces and exploring the encounter between the urban environment and nature — houses, trees, vegetation, and the spaces surrounding them. His creative process is rooted in observation, in the search for quiet and simple moments, and in a desire to express a sense of place, atmosphere, and feeling through a restrained use of means.
