Querida mia 2

A square work divided into compartments, defined by papier-mâché borders in a bluish-lilac hue. In the central panel are six synchronized swimmers in two rows, their bodies folded inward, heads bowed and arms embracing, while their legs extend skyward. In the lower panel, the words "QUERIDA MIA" are stenciled, and in the green side panels appears a blue coin purse with a gold clasp, cut off at the edge as if clinging to the frame. In this work, the female figures draw inward, almost curling around themselves. The collective movement has become a gathering-in. The purse, a central image in other works, is pushed to the margins and becomes part of the structure. The intimate no longer stands opposite the crowd but embraces it from both sides. The pale stencil on a dark ground reads like a whisper, and the tender address is given a whole panel of its own. The muted lilac palette, set against the soft green of the sides, creates an atmosphere of twilight and inner stillness.
