Off the Lip

A fleeting moment of suspension where body, wave, and sky meet on a fine line between control and surrender. The surfer launches off the lip, rising into the air as the sea explodes beneath him in a burst of living spray. Dramatic clouds echo the power of the water, creating a dialogue between air and ocean. Rendered in black and white, the image emphasizes texture, tension, and movement—a celebration of freedom and strength at the peak of a passing instant. The work was awarded Third Place in the Sports category at the “Local Testimony” photography competition.
