“Kasa” — the Japanese word for “hat” — inspires this series, which reflects on the quiet way mushrooms emerge from the earth and translates it into sculptural forms of subtle presence and quiet strength. The sculptures rise from grounded bases into organic, asymmetrical forms that evoke a gesture of unfolding, growth, and natural movement. The delicate carved textures draw inspiration from the hidden structure beneath the mushroom cap — a surface that remains concealed in nature, yet is brought into the light here and becomes an integral part of the form. When displayed together, the works create a sculptural mushroom field — a composition of varying heights, angles, and distances that generates a quiet rhythm and a sense of implied movement in space, like a delicate choreography between forms.
