Zigzag
About
Zigzag is an emerging artist working in a variety of mediums: from acrylic paintings on canvas, to digital works printed on photo paper, framed and covered with glass in small series and various sizes, and even artistic creations presented on textiles. Born in Jerusalem and raised in Tel Aviv, he is a brilliant self-taught creator who came from the world of high-tech, and has masterfully connected his love for digital painting with art through an interpretation that bridges past life eras with the present day. In his works, one can see a mix—playful nods to periods from the Bible and the Renaissance to our own times—such as his famous creations where the Mona Lisa meets Calvin Klein and King David meets Gucci. Zigzag’s unique style can be defined as “leaps”: he takes the viewer by the hand and guides them through wide color palettes, diverse graphic styles, and depictions of key historical figures whose imagery is already established in history, from Michelangelo to Frida Kahlo. From this, his distinctive name—Zigzag—was born.
