About
Artist Statement My artistic practice explores the intricate relationships between space, time, material, and the body. Through my work, I aim to delve into the transformative processes that occur at the intersection of these elements. Three-Dimensional Models and Bi-Dimensional Images In my sculptural practice, I create and assemble three-dimensional models using a diverse range of materials such as sand, cement, candle wax, and pigments. These materials are meticulously mixed and cast into forms that embody my artistic vision. Once the models are created, I scan them under various lighting conditions, producing bi-dimensional images. This process of scanning transforms the physical models into images, capturing the interplay between material objects and the scanning operation. These images serve as a medium to express my emotional experiences and perceptions of my internal world. Large-Scale Space-Adapted Installations In addition to my sculptural work, I create large-scale installations that are adapted to specific spaces. These installations explore the tension between materiality and immateriality. The materials used in these installations redefine the space and influence the way visitors interact with it. By utilizing biodegradable materials that are "frozen" in time, my installations raise questions about boundaries, temporality, and perishability. Figurative Dimensions and Hybridization Across both areas of my work, a figurative dimension emerges. Images of body parts and internal organs are crystallized through an experimental hybridization of materials. In this context, the materials represent metaphysical, emotional, or spiritual aspects, while the patterns and structures symbolize the tangible, permanent elements. My works are hybrids that resist the separation of these elements, embodying a synthesis of the material and the immaterial.
