About

Even before I actually drew on any format, the outline of the painting was already in my imagination. Today, when a variety of creative tools and a selection of art materials are at my disposal, I choose to be faithful and use most of my works: soft pencils and/or markers on paper and acrylic paints on wooden boards. Some of the pencil or marker drawings, which fill the pages of my sketchbook, I translate into paintings on wooden boards that I find by chance in one place or another, or I will specially order birch wooden boards in the dimensions I want from a carpenter. These wooden boards are my "candy". I embrace them with great enthusiasm, bring them to my studio and look forward to the moment when I will paint on them. The choice of painting subjects in my works is intuitive and is built, for the most part, on pieces of visual information, related to people or landscapes. These find their expression on the substrates of my works โ€“ paper and wood. Color is a very important element in my work, although sometimes I need to temporarily "disconnect" from using a wide color scale and using only one color (black) for painting, in order to return later and paint again with a range of shades.
