Anat Maor

For me, painting is a place where time stands still. I began working with watercolor pencils over the last decade, drawn to the softness, the flow, and the delicacy of this medium. In an instant, a magical new world of creation and freedom opened up before me. Today, I mainly use watercolor pencils and alcohol ink—materials with a similar nature, as both allow me to release control and let intuition lead the way. Painting is a channel of expression through which I "speak in color." It serves as a spiritual and meditative practice that helps me meet life, finding emotion, magic, and serenity within it.
