Dasy Ravid

Dasy works from within her internal world and from her therapeutic experience. She makes a line, colored smudge or shape. She looks at them from different angles and from within the lines she creates a dialogue, a story born from a line, smudge and color. The paintings are not planned in advance but are created from the canvas, they surprise her and bring her a pleasure and a smile. The colored smudges and lines of her paintings are influenced by events, wanderings, dreams and experiences that she encounter when walking through our land and other countries of the world On these walks she collect items from nature, materials, pieces of paper, maps and newspapers. She sticks them on her canvas, add molding paste, color and line, she looks at the canvas and move it around. She repeat this a number of times, each time looking at the canvas and working on it from a different perspective, until she finally absorb from it a shape, an element, a communication or a subject that was created and born out of the canvas. This is the presence that she want to emphasize, to bring out, to add some more details and lines to bring the work to final completion Her creations surprise and excite her, they bring out in her interest, thoughts and curiosity as to what will be born next time
