Steps Through Stone
An aged stone courtyard rises through layered staircases, iron railings, arched doors, and shaded balconies beneath an open blue sky. Broken, substantial oil brushwork gives the masonry a tactile patchwork of ochre, brown, gray, and muted rose. The ascending diagonals create movement while the enclosed passageways lend the scene a quiet, nostalgic atmosphere.

My name is Tomer Bitan, a multidisciplinary artist living and creating in the heart of Safed. I specialize in oil paintings on canvas alongside large-scale murals and graffiti art. For me, creating art is a deeply spiritual and emotional process, born from a personal connection to the Galilean landscapes of my upbringing. The ancient stone alleyways, the open fields, the ever-shifting play of light and shadow, and the deep gaze in the eyes of my subjects are my primary sources of inspiration. My works combine a realistic approach with capturing warm, intimate moments of joy and tradition, seeking to bring a touch of soul, tranquility, and inner strength into every space.
