Marilyn
Behind the blonde hair, the red lips, and the Hollywood legend, there was simply a woman. In Marilyn, the iconic Hollywood star is captured away from the spotlight, backstage with a cigarette, in a rare moment of ordinary life. Her famous blonde has faded, her features softened with age, and the glamorous image gives way to something more human. Inspired by contemporary Pop artist Greg Guillemain, the painting explores the contrast between public image and private identity. There is no tragedy in this moment, no performance, and no audience to impress. Just a woman taking a break from being a legend. Because even icons deserve a moment offstage.

Muriel Elmaleh
Muriel Elmaleh is a contemporary artist whose practice moves between expressive abstraction, Pop Art, and figurative painting. Working with acrylic on canvas, she explores emotion, movement, and identity through distinct visual languages. Her abstract works translate emotion into movement through layered marks, drips, and sweeping gestures, creating compositions driven by rhythm, tension, and physical energy. In her Pop Art paintings, she draws on familiar characters, popular culture, and contemporary imagery, combining bold colors, playful compositions, and dark humor to explore the contradictions of modern life. Beyond abstraction and Pop Art, some of Elmaleh's figurative works draw from personal memory and her childhood in Ivory Coast, exploring themes of motherhood, resilience, and cultural heritage. Self-taught and instinct-driven, Elmaleh approaches painting through both intuition and experimentation. Whether abstract or figurative, her work moves between spontaneity and control, with emotion remaining at the center of her artistic practice.
