Magen Olam (World Shield) | 2026 A grieving bride, her husband's tallit A proud mother and a mighty warrior Wounded and bleeding, yet still singing Dancing at parties, with a heart full of prayers I am one, I am all Israeli spirit Magen Olam A textile upcycling artwork, created through deconstruction, reconstruction, and dyeing of existing garments. At the heart of the work is a wedding dress once worn by a friend. The lower part is dyed red, representing pain, while the upper part is dyed olive green, expressing how military reality seeps into our lives and becomes part of who we are. The white left in the middle makes room for ceremony, tradition, individuality, and hope. The jacket was made from my husband's old military uniform. A shirt and a pair of trousers were taken apart and reconstructed into a new garment. The jacket is also dyed red and black, colors that, to me, represent blood and gunpowder residue. The tallit, that was given to my husband by my father and to my father my my grandfather- reminds us of our roots and traditions, of turning to faith in difficult times, and of the hope we continue to hold on to. The festival wristbands honor the memory of those murdered at the Nova festival, but also express our determination to keep living, celebrating, and dancing. All these elements come together in one figure, carrying on her body the pain, memory, and hope of an entire reality, yet continuing to stand strong. She is one. She is all of them. **Note: The black nylon was the curator's decision when the work was previously exhibited. It is not part of the artwork itself and is now up to the new curators decision

Nophar Chaya Gat

Nophar Chaya Gat

Nophar Chaya Gat is an Israeli abstract artist whose work is exhibited at her own gallery, Nophar Chaya Gat Gallery, in the Artists' Village of Zukim, in the heart of Israel's Arava Desert. With an academic background in philosophy, cognitive neuroscience, and mathematics, her path to art was anything but conventional. After years of teaching mathematics, she chose to make art the center of her life. Working without sketches or predetermined compositions, each painting evolves through an intuitive dialogue with the canvas. Layers of color, movement, and spontaneous decisions shape every work into a unique visual journey. For Nophar, painting is not about controlling the outcome—it is about discovering it. Every artwork captures a moment where color, material, and intuition come together in a way that can never be repeated.
