Tomatoes and apples

RACHEL KLEIN ELAZARI

$318

Tomatoes and apples rest on a tabletop against a deep. The oil paint is handled with visible, confident brushwork, building soft highlights, dense shadow, and a quietly textured surface. The contrast between the muted setting and vivid fruit gives the piece a focused, intimate presence.

As a figurative artist, my work is completely anchored in this moment โ€“ โ€‹โ€‹in the โ€œhere and nowโ€. The reality that surrounds me, with its people, landscapes and everyday moments, is my raw material and sole inspiration. Through figurative painting, I seek to capture the material and human present exactly as it unfolds before my eyes. The choice to focus on the existing and the visible stems from a deep desire to forget the past and free myself from the weight of memories. In the technique of oil painting on canvas, the rich layers of paint allow me to give the present reality volume and tangible physical presence. My brush does not dwell on what was, but celebrates what is, and offers an experience of pure presence. Every line, figure and stain of paint in oil is an attempt to freeze the present moment and make it eternal. For me, art is a space of silence where the past fades away and the present reality receives full attention. I invite the viewer to take their gaze away from yesterday, and observe with me the beauty and power of the present.
