Sharon Yohay

Sharon’s background in graphic and industrial design has gifted her with a profound understanding of material, form, and structure. Over the years, she chose to step away from definitive, rigid lines, shifting toward a freer, more open expression through painting. With soft, evocative brushstrokes, she captures vast open spaces and endless skies—intimate landscapes that speak of quietude, where every observer can find a sense of home. Sharon’s work is defined by an extraordinary fusion of three distinct styles: abstract, naive, and figurative realism. This significant approach was highlighted by painter and curator Milo Shor, who observed: “Sharon’s beautiful and intriguing painting combines three distinct styles... Blending different styles within a single painting is a rare phenomenon that often causes confusion in interpreting the image; however, this is not the case in this excellent piece." Her paintings are sold throughout the country, have been featured in various galleries and exhibitions, and are gracefully finding their way into the world. "I paint the sky, and the sky paints within me. I paint my landscapes on found wooden planks that cross my path; the wood's shape and natural texture actively partake in the features of the piece, as colors breathe renewed life into the weathered timber. In my artwork, I seek the nuances of light within the clouds and horizons I have yet to meet. I connect with the landscape from an inner vantage point, and time and again, the material and I discover what the heart longs for within an ever-renewing reflection of reality."
