Self Portrait in Blue

This self-portrait captures me in my beloved ultramarine blue coat, beside a teapot that has been treasured across generations — a gift from my mother to my grandmother with her first paycheck. Painted over several sessions, I worked to preserve the freshness and immediacy of an alla prima approach, while building depth with each layer, much like the layers of memory. The painting invites the viewer into a quiet, intimate moment, combining personal history with the richness of oil on wood.
