AYELET ARNON

$321

A spotted deer in profile is assembled from layered paper fragments, merging with hanging icicle-like forms above and dark branching shapes below. The collage uses sharply cut edges, tonal contrasts, and photographic color passages to create a surreal woodland image. Its quiet tension and earthy palette give the work a contemplative presence. The artwork is unframed. Framing and shipping are available for an additional fee.

AYELET ARNON

My name is Ayelet and i am a collage artist. I take piecesof things that already exist, such as images or colored papers, and put them together in a new way, but not randomly. Rather in a way that creates new meanings. I cut a piece from here and there and try to create a kind of world with new rules. For me collage is like painting. instead of painting with oil, acrylic or gouache, i paint with paper cuts. I use the colors, shapes, textures, and images from materials that already exist. The works emerge from an emotion, a question, or a particular subject that i am exploring. I look through images and ask myself what resonates with it, until i find something that feels "right" and look for the next "right" thing. the main work is to find the way they connected. What draws meto collage is the way it brings the unconscious content to the surface so directly. i never really know what i will discover through the connections i create, it is truly an adventure. A dialogue between my inner content and the content created by other people.
