Pyrenees in Mist

Zev Labinger

$396

Bring the quiet beauty of the Pyrenees Mountains into your space with this captivating, original watercolor landscape painting. The piece masterfully captures a dramatic mountain ridge blanketed in rich shades of emerald, moss, and sage green foliage. A dense, ethereal blanket of white mist weaves through the valley, beautifully blurring the line between the lush earth and a soft, overcast sky painted in atmospheric washes of pale blue and gray. The artist utilizes a delicate blend of precise stippling to denote dense pine trees in the foreground, juxtaposed against soft, bleeding wet-on-wet washes that pull the distant peaks into a hazy, dreamlike backdrop. This stunning contrast creates an incredible sense of depth and atmospheric perspective. With its calming organic color palette and serene, meditative mood, this artwork serves as a peaceful escape—making it a perfect focal point for a living room, office, or bedroom sanctuary

As an artist deeply immersed in the exploration of nature, I find myself constantly inspired by the elegance and majesty of birds. My work delves into the intricate relationships between these avian creatures and the broader ecosystems they inhabit, as well as the profound connections between humans and the natural world. By reconnecting with nature, we renew the connections that bind us to one another, and will hopefully be moved to cherish and protect the fragile ecosystems that sustain us all. Zev is a visual artist, musician and ecologist. Born in 1962 in the USA, he later immigrated to Israel in 1986, following the birds, where he now lives with his wife and two daughters. Zev’s love for birds has accompanied him from a young age. As a child, he began to draw them and later that same love led him to work as an ecologist for the preservation of birds and to engage with them as an artist. Zev is the Israeli representative for the international organization "Artists for Nature Foundation" and have exhibited in Israel and internationally. His works can be found in private collections, museums, books and field guides. Fascinated by how things work, especially how things work together, his art spans from traditional nature art to dealing with the intersection between nature and society. Zev’s passion for birds leads him to protect them, but today he understands that the birds are also protecting him. Separation from nature has condemned humanity to great loneliness. The story of the Tower of Babel illustrates the human fear of losing control, which has led to division, lack of communication, and the divide-and-rule system. Through his art, he hopes to reconnect people with nature, to feel part of it. In this way, people can re-experience the sense of belonging, connection, and unity that is so lacking.
