I paint women, but I'm actually painting my view of women and the possibility of looking at them with kind eyes. My characters are born out of a love for color, lines, patterns, clothes, hair, and the small details that turn a figure into a personality .I love women who have a presence, even when they are quiet. Even when they are imperfect. They don't ask for permission to be who they are. My paintings usually start from a figure or a feeling, but I don't know in advance where it will lead me. I work with acrylics in layers, leaving room for intuition and chance, allowing the painting to reveal itself along the way. For me, painting is a space for personal expression and freedom. The freedom to accept not .knowing how the painting will look, the freedom to let go of control, and to just allow myself to be part of the process.
