A dark architectural interior is organized around an open window, its luminous panes divided by strong vertical and horizontal bars and echoed by bright rectangles above. The photographic image on paper uses stark black-and-white contrast and visible grain to reduce the scene to geometry, light, and shadow. Its restrained symmetry creates a contemplative, slightly mysterious presence suited to an office, hallway, or modern living room.
