"A baby is born into the world from the enveloping womb, and is immediately required to enter a reality where they are at the mercy of their mother and the environment. Here, using a marker on a transparency, I drew myself at birth, out of the questions: How was I welcomed into the world? What did I feel then? What weaknesses and strengths were built within me from that initial encounter with reality?"
