At the Violet Threshold

YOCHAI AMAD

$1,229

A solitary dark figure stands before a layered nocturnal setting of tall golden forms, violet shadows, and blue reflections. Broad acrylic passages establish the atmospheric ground, while textured vertical strokes and fine highlights articulate the surrounding structures and figure. The deep palette and ambiguous space create a contemplative, mysterious presence suited to a living room, office, or dining area.

Artist Statement I began drawing at a very young age, driven by a natural desire to understand the world around me. My earliest works focused on people—individuals whose presence, character, or life stories left a deep impression on me, whether positive or challenging. Over the past several years, I have been studying with the artist Shira Gafstein, a journey that has profoundly enriched my artistic development and expanded my visual language. Today, I work across a variety of styles, with most of my paintings emerging from my inner world, imagination, and personal vision. Through my work, I seek to invite viewers into a space where reality and imagination merge, allowing each person to discover their own interpretation and emotional connection to the painting. Over the years, art has become much more than a creative practice for me; it has become a language through which I explore emotions, memories, and imagination. Painting offers me a space for freedom, reflection, and at times, refuge, enabling me to transform inner experiences into visual expression.
