About

Roni Tahor is an Israeli artist who has been creating intuitive paintings for over 25 years. For Tahor, painting is an essential need a way to explore emotions, memory, and inner processes through color, movement, and layered materiality. Her works always begin with a blank canvas and an initial placement of color, without prior planning or a defined subject. Through an intuitive process, marks, stains, and organic forms emerge, evolving into a personal and expressive visual language. For her, painting is an ongoing dialogue between action and observation, between material and emotion, and between the subconscious and what seeks to be revealed. Her work is built through multiple layers of paint, erasure, and transformation. Each layer responds to what already exists, until the painting reaches a sense of inner balance and completion. Tahor does not give titles to her works, מתוך a desire to leave the viewer with an open space for personal interpretation and experience. Alongside her personal artistic practice, Tahor is the director of Beit HaOmanim in Rehovot, where she teaches intuitive painting and leads a growing community of women artists and creators. She is also a member of the artistic collective in Rehovot and participates in group exhibitions and collaborative art projects, including exhibitions at Beit Dundikov in Rehovot and joint exhibitions with Midburn artists.
