Ran
An elderly man emerges from a dark ground, his turned face modeled by a narrow passage of warm light. Layered oil paint and visible, directional brushwork give weight to the forehead, cheek, beard, and dark clothing. The restrained brown, gray, and blue-green palette creates a quiet, introspective presence suited to a study, hallway, or living room.
