kiss-lock purse

A vertical work in a muted mint green, divided into horizontal bands. In its upper part the word "NARTIK" appears twice, once in its normal direction and once as an inverted reflection, as if seen in a mirror. Below it runs a decorative band in a Mediterranean floor-tile pattern, in pale blue and white. At the bottom of the canvas, in the center and slightly to one side, sits a bluish-gray coin purse with a metal clasp, sunk into the enveloping green ground. The purse is the central image and the painting's theme. The repeated, mirrored inscription creates a sense of echo or memory, as if the word were returning to itself, while the purse, set apart from every other element, remains in its own stillness. The soft, hazy palette, like shallow water or a faded wall, gives the work a quality of longing, a memory encoded in a small, intimate object
