Colorful Hope Spray
Here we see a seemingly ordinary black spray can. Yet from it bursts an unexpected explosion of color, life, joy, and hope. The colorful spray is made entirely of hundreds of tiny stickers: positive messages, hearts, stars, words of love, and a spark of innocence and optimism. The grainy gray background, reminiscent of concrete, combined with the spray can, evokes the world of graffiti. Graffiti on gray, desolate concrete , perhaps the wall of a bomb shelter, a symbol of immense strength, yet sadly, one that could not always provide the protection and sense of security it was meant to offer. This graffiti tells a story of a more colorful and optimistic future, while also preserving a memory. The contrast between the black can and the surprising burst of color erupting from it emphasizes the central idea: hope can emerge even from the darkest place - the darkness we have experienced. Even the number on the can, seemingly just a technical detail, carries a deeper meaning, inviting the viewer to guess its significance.

Sharon Fast
By training, I am a textile designer, and over the years I have worked in Israel’s textile industry. Today, I am an active visual artist, living and working along the fine line or perhaps the broad seam between art and design. My practice involves a mixed-media technique combining acrylic painting with the application of stickers and a variety of other materials. The visual language I have developed reflects key aspects of my personality: patience, precision, meticulous attention to detail, and a strong sense of harmony and aesthetics. I carefully arrange the stickers as if they were precious gemstones, each one contributing to an elaborate piece of jewelry. The process is labor-intensive and requires exceptional fine motor skills, often involving the delicate use of tweezers. The stickers and additional materials I incorporate vary from one work to another, serving the story each piece seeks to tell. Every artwork is one of a kind unique and unrepeatable. My work explores my identity as a designer, focusing primarily on textiles, fashion, the intersection of fashion and music, and femininity. Like many of us, I live with the daily tension and stress, and seek a way to momentarily shift my thoughts away from everyday worries and immerse myself in a colorful world, rich with positive associations. A world that brings a smile to the viewer’s face, while also offering a bold statement or a playful wink. I believe that paying attention to the smallest details draws the viewer into the story, reveals additional layers of meaning, and invites personal reflection or social dialogue. In this way, the artwork becomes more than an object hanging on a wall; it becomes an active part of its surroundings, sparking thought, emotion, and curiosity.
