Cat in a Crooked Embrace

Arnold Ravitz

₪2,400

A wide-eyed orange figure bends across the composition, holding a turquoise cat against a mottled purple ground. Mixed media on canvas combines emphatic black contours, scraped and layered color, and tactile passages of white, orange, and violet. Tilted anatomy, exaggerated features, and saturated contrasts create a comic, restless energy suited to a contemporary living room, dining area, or creative workspace.

Arnold Ravitz

Arnold Ravitz works with acrylic paints and markers on canvas, creating artworks characterized by free-flowing lines that form amorphous, stylized figures composed of simple, primitive shapes. Deliberately disregarding traditional rules of perspective and anatomy, Arnold creates a distorted, surreal world that reflects his emotions and personal view of reality. Recurring elements appear throughout his work in different variations, particularly expressive faces that evoke empathy and complex emotions in the viewer. His figurative lines flow freely, often ending in open forms that invite the viewer's imagination to complete the composition. His creative process is entirely intuitive, without a predefined concept or narrative. Each artwork develops organically through spontaneous improvisation as he works. Arnold began drawing and experimenting with different artistic mediums at an early age. As an introverted child, art became his refuge and a powerful means of expressing his emotions. He studied animation, illustration, and graphic design, later specializing in 3D modeling at Vancouver Film School in Canada. The influence of illustration and animation is deeply embedded in his artistic style, giving his paintings their distinctive graphic and expressive character.
